Not a really big deal, but forsome reason I’d feel weird if the battalion chief rolled up to my burning house like, “Hey, I’m here to save the day, follow me on Instagram!” Oh well.

Most departments use FB, Insta and Twitter to get news out. Traffic updates, situational updates, etc.

Also the Bat Chief and Fire Chief are two different roles.

Chief is more of a figure head, desk job that reports to city council, mayor and ultimately voters. A BC is incident response planning. When you have action that requires more than one truck company they will be the one barking out orders and coordinating the attack and getting everyone on the same page.
